{September 30, 2011}   Week 4 Picks and Predictions

This week for some is make or break for the season with the competition within their division fierce, I am looking at you Miami and Minnesota. Some are looking to get their groove back while others are trying to still get by the skin of their teeth….here’s to another great week!

Panthers V. Bears- The Panthers got their first win in a monsoon of a mess. But Cam looked like a completely different player than he did the first two weeks of play. The Bears on the other hand still are having major issues in their offense and Cutler is looking more like himself running scared from the line. This could be close, but I think that the Bears D will confuse Cam and the Bears win the game.

Bills V. Bengals- The Bills are coming off their biggest high that they have probably felt in years. They finally broke through and beat the Pats. FitzP can be a little cleaner but I was pretty impressed with how their defense was able to better cover than the last two matchups. The Bengals on the other hand of some issues on horizon with Benson’s suspension. Nothing seems to go right for them since their win in week one. I will take the Bills is this one.

Titans V. Browns– I believe that CJ has to break out at some point. Could this be the week? The Browns are playing pretty mediocre but were able to win without Hillis last week. However, Hasselbeck is actually doing fairly well in Tennessee but their star WR is out for the season. I have to go with the Titans cause even with CJ being less of an impact they have still been impressing.

Lions V. Cowboys- The two Cowboy wins have not been spectacular and have both been come from behind victories. In fact the only time that they have been leading they lost the game. The squad is still not 100% healthy, even Bryant said he wasn’t ready but he couldn’t sit out if Romo was playing with broken ribs. The Lions had some dominance but also had comebacks as well. I think a lot of people are surprised by their 3-0 start, I however am not one of them. I know they are an up and coming team and I think that they have the skills to beat the Cowboys especially when the Boys are not at 100%. I think that Stafford will be tested but I think Romo will run scared. Lions in this one.

Steelers V. Texans- Both teams are 2-1 even though the Texans have had the more dominant games. The Steelers almost lost one to a lowly Colts team, they have not been the dominant team. The Texans have finally found a defense that works for them and they made Brees run around a lot and make mistakes last week. Big Ben is no Brees, I think that the Texans have the talent. This will be a win among many to prove they should be taken seriously.

Saints V. Jaguars- The Saints narrowly escaped last week and the Jags aren’t able to get anything together. The Jags have some growing pains to get through, but more importantly MJD needs to make some TD’s. The Saints have been showing good form since their week 1 loss even though Brees had some issues last week throwing 2 picks. I think that the Saints are remaking themselves to be a threat in the NFC and I like the way they have been flowing which makes this pick easy. Who Dat?

Vikings V. Chiefs- Two 0-3 teams that have had some successes in the last few years, but are off to a rough start. The Chiefs key injuries seem to have really affected their play, although they showed some life last week. The Vikings have been going strong but seem to collapse in the 2nd half which has really affected their momentum. One team has to win and I think that its the Vikings.

Niners V. Eagles- Who would have thought the Niners would be the 2-1 team and the Eagles would be 1-2. I am not happy with the Vick talk about how he’s not getting flags when he should be more worried about taking care of himself. He puts himself into injury prone situations. The Niners haven’t been perfect, but they have been able to put up wins. I think that there is a lot of what if’s in this. But I like Mccoy more than Gore at this point. So I will go with the Eagles.

Redskins V. Rams- The Rams haven’t been at all what was expected but they have also had a tough first 3 weeks. I am not sure how Jackson is feeling but without him it could be a rough game. The Skins defense has vastly improved over last year and that can be the big motivator for a struggling offense still trying to find its groove. I am not sure on where things will go here as both teams are being built up. But if Jackson is healthy I think that Grossman will make enough mistakes that the Rams get there first win.

Giants V. Cardinals- This is one of those games that I am unsure of both teams and their abilities. The Giants look much better week by week where the Cardinals have had some tough close losses. I think that the Giants have the experience and rhythm with each other where the Cardinals are just starting to grow. This could go either way and I don’t know why I like Kolb so much but I am going to pick the Cardinals.

Falcons V. Seahawks- If the Falcons can’t win this one then they have major issues.

Broncos V. Packers- I want to say that the Packers have had an easy schedule but in reality they have just made it look easy so far this year. The Broncos aren’t really sure what they are yet a passing or a running game plus you have the issue of their hurting defense. I don’t think there is any question that the Pack will get this done at home.

Patriots V. Raiders- The only thing that will make this close is if the Pats defense can’t stop Mcfadden. We all know that Brady can’t stand to lose and usually puts a hurting on the next team. I just don’t know what I truly see with the Raiders but I can’t really go against the Pats after a loss. So I pick the Pats.

Dolphins V. Chargers-The Fins are in a must win situation just to save their head coach from the Axe. I am not quite sure how they haven’t put it together yet cause there have been good plays. The Chargers on the other hand are winning but not convincingly enough. They are having the same issues as usual with errors on all sides of the ball. I think that the Chargers pull it out though.

Jets V. Ravens- Such a tough one to call, but what it comes down to is what I have seen so far this season. Even though the Ravens had a tough time against the Titans they are looking like a playoff team. The Jets on the other hand had a rough going last week and have to march into Baltimore and then New England. I think there is a skid coming, it pains me to say but I pick the Ravens.

Colts V. Buccaneers- The Colts actually showed life last week but Collins may not play this week. Another game where the schedulers are shaking their head at. This should have been a match up of the veteran and the up and comer. Well sometimes things don’t work out and barring any big turnovers I think the Bucs will take this one.

{September 28, 2011}   Week 4 Power Rankings
 Packers  1   Last Week:1
Definitely taking the lead on best team in the league.
Saints 2    Last Week:6
Brees was shaky, but he wasn’t about to lose in his house!
Ravens 3   Last Week: 9
If Flacco can play like that every game, everyone else needs to watch out!
Patriots 4    Last Week:2
 4 INT = Loss
Jets 5   Last Week: 3
Too confident too early…..two more tough road games ahead.
Lions 6    Last Week:7
3-0? Lions fans must be dreaming right now!
Bills 7   Last Week:14
Or is it the Bills fans that are dreaming?
Texans 8    Last Week:5
Can’t be too disappointed in the fight they gave in NO.
Steelers 9   Last Week: 12
Hesistantly raising them up, but the Colts almost had their number.
Chargers 10    Last Week:11
Too close for comfort….but they won.
Buccaneers 11    Last Week:15
Win in the division is a huge win for the Bucs!
Eagles 12    Last Week:8
Let Vick sit, better to lose him for a week now than weeks later in the season.
Falcons 13    Last Week:6
I do not know what’s going on but for some reason I still believe.
Raiders 14    Last Week:20
If Mcfadden keeps running then the rest of the AFC West should be worried.
 Cowboys 15    Last Week:17
An ugly win is still a win….don’t know how much more the injured players can take.
Redskins 16    Last Week:13
I still like what I see and it will be interesting to see who gets the division this year.
Giants 17    Last Week:22
There is some light coming in, and they may be taking charge of the division.
Bears 18    Last Week:10
Same issues as last year, if you can’t protect your QB you will go no where.
Titans 19    Last Week:19
Winning despite CJ’s complete lack of yards….he needs to breakthrough at some point right?
49ers 20    Last Week:25
Maybe its a little high for them, but with the expectations coming in I am pleasantly surprised!
Panthers 21    Last Week:21
First win and Cam plays bad….not a good pattern to continue.
Cardinals 22    Last Week:16
Something will happen with this franchise….their luck now falls in with the bad NFC West
Browns 23    Last Week:26
Win without Hillis is pretty impressive. Even if its by 1 point.
Broncos 24    Last Week:27
They are keeping pace every game win or lose…that’s the bright side.
Jaguars 25    Last Week:24
MJD just can’t breakthrough, getting the yards but not the TD’s.
Dolphins 26    Last Week:23
Sparano is on thin ice.
Rams 27    Last Week:20
I want them to win, but a 60% Jackson is not going to help anything.
Bengals 28    Last Week:28
Just not working for them, any momentum from week 1 is gone.
Seahawks 29    Last Week:31
They won, but its not because they’re good.
Vikings 30    Last Week:29
If this was based on player AP would be high up, but his team keeps dragging him down.
Colts 31    Last Week:30
Showed barely a spark but they have a tough schedule and its only going to get worse.
Chiefs 32    Last Week:32
Yes they almost beat a flawed Chargers team, but they still aren’t good.

It was an interesting week where the remaining undefeateds are making people turn heads. The Packers were and expected but the Bills and Lions? Its going to be an interesting season as there are a lot of strong 2-1 teams out there as well….it was a crazy week can’t wait for week 4!

Jaguars V. Panthers- If you saw any part of this game you could understand the slow pace of this game. It was monsoon like weather with every tackle splashing water popping up. However, Cam went back down to mere mortal like numbers with only 158yds and a TD. But he is starting to build a rapport with his receivers. Their defense is what helped lead Cam to his first win. They were able to stop MJD despite a good showing. Gabbert didn’t do as well as Jags fans would hope but he sure didn’t look as bad as Mccown.

Lions V. Vikings- The Vikings for the 3rd week in a row gave up a 1st half lead. There is nothing AP can do more than he is doing right now. Unfortunately his defense can’t seem to help out enough to keep the lead. The Lions showed no life in the first half, but quickly picked it up and even took the lead. Stafford showed veteran like qualities with his patience and dividing the passes to four players had 50+ yds. The OT win will help boost their confidence for next weeks road game.

49ers V. Bengals- I was worried for a second with the Bengals at halftime they were up 3-0. It’s not like the Niners came back hard like the Lions did but they did start to get the ball moving. They held on and despite a safety in the 4th there was nothing left in the Bengals and Dalton is beginning to look like a bad choice. But where can they really go from here? I wish there was more to say about this game but it was pretty boring from the start.

Dolphins V. Browns- I was barely wrong about this one, last minute TD put the Browns in the lead. The Fins just can’t seem to get it together for a whole game. Unfortunately for Sparano this may start the countdown for the first coach firing of the year. Its not that they are playing horribly they just can’t seem to work on both sides of the ball. The Browns on the otherhand did well even though they lacked the playmaking skills of Hillis.

Patriots V. Bills- I will take being wrong in this one any day. The thing is that Brady is not a god that everyone makes him out to be. Is he great? Yes! Is he probably one of the best if not the best playing right now in the league? Yes! But he’s human and eventually you will have a bad game and make mistakes. The Bills defense showed that they can play against any offense and make huge plays. FitzP made some mistakes and wasn’t perfect but thankfully for Jackson and the D to help clean it up. But those who have Welker in fantasy can’t be mad he was THE target for Brady with 217 yds.

Giants V. Eagles- Apparently I foresaw the future with this one. If Kafka doesn’t turn over the ball! But I didn’t think it would be Vick starting and leaving again with a broken hand. Mccoy did what he could but the Giants defense were all over Vick when he was in. Cruz also did a great job with his catches against some big names. The Eagles have a lot to be worried about at this point and they could be blowing this NFC east wide open!

Broncos V. Titans- Chris Johnson is stuck in lala land and Kenny Britt went out hurt but the Titans were still able to pull it off with Hasselbecks experience winning out. The Titans defense were still strong though getting a couple of INTs. Do you hear what I hear? The impatient Tebow fans starting to chant….tebow…..Tebow….TEBOW! I don’t think its time yet…but really it wouldn’t hurt at this point. I am not sure however how many games the Titans can win if CJ is virtually useless.

Texans V. Saints- The Texans had this in their grasp and really made Brees look bad in the first half. However, this is Brees, and this is his house! The Texans shouldn’t be messed with after this loss though. The numbers offensively there even though Tate didn’t have as big of a game. It really came down to the calm and experience of Brees that finished this game up. Its hard to be the Saints in general but even more so at home. However, the Texans is still the favorite in their division.

Jets V. Raiders- The Jets deserved to lose this one, their defense didn’t have an answer for Mcfadden. The bigger problem was Cromartie could not get anything together with four big flags and a huge turnover that changed the momentum of the game. The Raiders weren’t spectacular outside of Mcfadden of course but they really turned up the heat in the second half on defense. Sanchez had good numbers but you could see that with Mangold gone there was a huge gaping hole which halted the running game and sacks galore.

Ravens V. Rams- So which team is the Ravens really? This week saw the dominance of week 1 except for with a crazy new threat in rookie Torrey Smith. Joe Flacco minus some fumbles looked like a new QB when compared to last week. Plus you have to love it when a big man like Ngata runs with the ball. The Rams on the other hand are still hurting with a not quite 100% Jackson, and Bradford is still growing. I honestly have no idea at this point who is going to win their division this year.

Chiefs V. Chargers- The Chiefs actually showed signs of life this week which compared to the first two weeks is big for them. Rivers was not playing his best where Cassel was doing ok before he was picked off with less than a minute to go. Ryan Matthews is finally showing results from the hype of last year. The Chiefs should be a little happy that there is life after Charles, but their running game still needs some work. Where the Chargers need to jump ahead a little earlier than they have been.

Falcons V. Buccaneers- This game was a mess on both sides, both Quarterbacks did not play their best game. Sloppy play and turnovers made this game back and forth. However, somehow the Bucs were able to score where the Falcons had to try and rely on last minute play for the 2nd week in a row. The Falcons running game is pretty much non-existent and is probably the reason for the loss. Both of these QB’s need to clean up if either of them want a playoff spot.

Cardinals V. Seahawks- The Cardinals have had two odd away games where they came so close yet so far. I think you will see the progress over time this season with them. The Seahawks on the other hand had an amazing debut of Sidney Rice, even though I still believe his talent is wasted there. But I think that Kolb will rebound at home next week where the Seahawks are getting their rare win this year.

Packers V. Bears- It was a good day for tight ends today and non more than Finley. Where the troubles in the Bears offense were glaring with their running game minus Cutler equaled only 2 yds. There are a lot of issues for the Bears that us “doubters” knew would carry over and they will not win untill they fix this issue. The Packers on the other hand can now officially be called the best team in the league!

Steelers V. Colts- This is exactly why I didn’t think the Steelers were as good as they were last year. They allowed a running game by Addai and they almost lost to a team that is crumbling. The thing is if the Ravens slip up the Steelers can easily get back in. The Colts on the other hand showed a sliver of light before Collins went out with a concussion. I don’t know if the Colts can win a game this year.

Redskins V. Cowboys– What an unexciting game! But it did show that both defenses have the skills but the offenses are lacking. It wasn’t a pretty game to watch as both sides made mistakes. The Cowboys aren’t 100% but they can’t keep relying on last minute drives to win games because they will lose. The Skins still need to figure out the offense they want to play if they want to win more games.

More divisional action and big time matchups to help weed out who is serious and who just got lucky. There are a few teams that I am excited to see which is the Texans and the Bills. They have been dominant on their first two outings and now they start playing with the big boys. I would love to seem some upsets as long as Brees still does good for my fantasy team!

Jaguars V. Panthers- The Jags have issues at QB but if Gabbert is their future I don’t think he can do anymore damage than Mccown has. MJD should be able to help fill the gaps, even though he didn’t have a TD he was able to get some yardage last week. The Panthers on the other hand are just itching for their first win. I have been both surprised and disappointed by both of these teams so far and I think this could be a close game. But I think Cam gets his first win this week.

Lions V. Vikings- These teams split the series last year and the Vikings to me are a worse off team this year. They have AP but with the Lions defense I am not so sure how much of an impact he can make. The Lions are out to prove that they need to be taken seriously. The numbers they are putting up on both sides of the ball have been impressive but they still have yet to face a strong team. That being said I think the Vikes are week and the Lions take this one.

49ers V. Bengals- The Niners are coming off a tough loss at home but in general are performing much better than expected. The Bengals on the other hand won against a bad team then turn around and lost against a bad team. There isn’t a lot going on except for Benson on their offense and I think that their defense is soft. The Niners have much more going for them on defense I expect Willis to be in Dalton’s face all day long. Niners on this one.

Dolphins V. Browns- The Fins actually haven’t been playing as horrible as I thought they were even though they are 0-2. Henne looks better despite losing, but the defense has been lagging on coverage. Where the Browns on the other hand seemed to have two completely opposite weeks. Mccoy isn’t as sharp as he needs to be but Hillis seems to have stepped up from week 1. I could see this going both ways depending on who shows up, but I think the Fins finally win on the road.

Patriots V. Bills- Many didn’t believe that the Bills would be 2-0 when they faced the Patriots but they are. The question is can the Patriots defense stop what has turned into an unexpected explosive offense? I think this will be a closer game than the obsessive Patriot lovers think. But the Buffalo’s defense has yet to face a great offense, let along a good one. While I think their offense should be able to score against the Pats, I don’t think that their defense will be able to keep up with the Pats offense. Would love to see an upset but I have to give the edge to the Pats.

Giants V. Eagles- The problem in predicting this is not knowing whether or not Vick is playing. Oh wait a minute we are talking about the Giants here. I honestly believe in the talent of Mccoy that even if Vick doesn’t play can gain the yards as long as Kafka doesn’t turn over the ball. Manning isn’t playing that well and their defense isn’t playing its best. I am going to say either way Eagles win this one.

Broncos V. Titans- The Titans showed a sign of life I didn’t know I would see last week. The Broncos were able to beat a weak Bengals team. This one could be a toss up especially if CJ is a no show again. I don’t want to hear the Tebow chants anymore which makes me hope for a Broncos win, but I have a feeling that the Titans take this one!

Texans V. Saints- Welcome to the big leagues Houston! This will be a huge game if the Texans can pull it off. Their running game has looked good but their defense is what has improved over the last year. The problem the Saints will have is they face a defense that is currently the best against the pass. But that was also against Collins and Henne, they haven’t seen a QB of Brees like stature. In the same respect the Saints D has been doing well against the run. It could be a close game but the Saints at home? I can’t bet against that!

Jets V. Raiders- The Jets are coming off a motivating beatdown of the Jags while the Raiders are coming off a last minute loss. I think this is where Plax will come off with some big catches against a Raiders secondary that lacks a superstar. Hopefully Greene may be able to run a little too. But you can’t count out the Raiders as Mcfadden is climbing upwards each week and the Jets haven’t been able to be the shut outs they were a year ago. In the end I will take the Jets as besides Mcfadden the Raiders are quite unimpressive.

Ravens V. Rams- Which Raven team is actually going to show up this week? Talk about the biggest flip/flop of superiority. However, I haven’t heard either way if Jackson is playing or not. We all saw what happened last week when he did not play. The Ravens have massive talent and a newly resigned Ngata. I can’t put doubt on them when they have the talent. I will take the Ravens in this one.

Chiefs V. Chargers- The Chiefs have lost a lot of big players, and Matt Cassel has pretty much been non existent. The Chargers have the talent but not the follow through. I was tough watching both teams last week. The Chiefs need to figure out a new game plan in order to get any momentum. The Chargers on the the other hand need to just stay focused because they can win games. I don’t think Gates will be shut out in this game. I pick the Chargers.

Falcons V. Buccaneers– This is a big matchup for the Bucs who have had a wobbly first two weeks. Its the youth of the team that is both so good yet so bad at times. Blount closed the game well last week, but just like last year he is slow going to make a big splash. The Falcons coming off a win against the Eagles should hopefully shape up and start getting the offense going early. This could be a very close game or a total blow out. But I have to go with more experience and pick the Falcons.

Cardinals V. Seahawks- I am starting to wonder if the Hawks will win any games this year. Lucky for them they are in the worst division in the league. However, playing against a Cardinals offense that is really starting to come together despite a loss could be harmful to them winning a game. Seattle can’t seem to get any momentum or make any big plays. The Cardinals seem to be building their chemistry every week and I see good things in the future for Kolb and Kompany. I will go with the Cardinals.

Packers V. Bears- Here it is y’all the NFC Championship game from last year. Except this time I am sure Cutler will play the whole game. The bad news is he will probably get sacked often. The Bears have a lot of talent but they have gaping holes in their play that stops them from being the elite team that their fans want them to be. I still think they will be vying for a wild card spot. However, as long as the Packers are playing they will win this one.

Steelers V. Colts- Oh boy to the poor schedulers who created this game thinking of the hype that would come with it. But now they have a Manningless 0-2 Colts team and a 1-1 Steelers team. They probably thought these would be both 2-0 teams at this time in the season. The good news for the Steelers is that since last week was so easy this week will probably be easier. The Colts obviously relied on Manning for much more than being  QB he was the heart of the team. Their motivation seems to be gone and I think that the Steelers take this one easily.

Redskins V. Cowboys– Uh oh….I better be careful with what I say about this one. The thing is the Skins are surprising many people especially on defense when they were one of the worst in the league last year. However, the Cowboys are hurting right now and it is still unknown whether or not Romo plays or Austin or Bryant for that matter. I don’t see how they can keep winning games without the playmakers playing. They split the series last year but it is in Dallas. I am picking the Skins unless two out of the three above mentioned players play then I pick the Boys’!

 Packers  1   Last Week:1
Slow start this week, but I can’t get enough of Woodson. Still strong still #1
Patriots 2    Last Week:4
Another 2nd half victory….someone needs to figure out how to stay close all game long.
Jets 3   Last Week: 5
1st TD in the 1st quarter for the 1st time in 16 games. They need to keep at it in order for them to hang with the Pats in a few weeks.
Saints 4    Last Week:6
No INT’s for Brees makes for good football….the good thing is their defense is stepping up too.
Texans 5   Last Week: 8
Arian who? Tate is showing that he is just as good and he’s healthy. They will have two big games coming up in order to prove themselves to the doubters.
Falcons 6    Last Week:9
Their defense is making plays but their offense is slow going. But hey got to love Gonzalez!
Lions 7   Last Week:11
If Stafford stays healthy this could be a playoff year. Division play starts next week which begins the true test.
Eagles 8    Last Week:3
People say its cause Vick was hurt that they loss, but it was Vick’s turnovers that made it that close in the first place.
Ravens 9   Last Week: 2
Everyone has a bad day??? Flacco needs to figure out what is going on and fast.
Bears 10    Last Week:7
And here come the sacks! Can’t win when your QB is sacked in every series.
Chargers 11    Last Week:10
The Chargers have no one to blame but themselves. They had a chance and blew it.
Steelers 12    Last Week:12
Can’t go up when you only beat one of the worst teams in the league.
Redskins 13    Last Week:26
Not sold, but will be more interested if they beat a HEALTHY Cowboys team.
Bills 14    Last Week:25
Next week is their biggest test. The good news is they don’t have to go into Foxboro.
Buccaneers  15    Last Week:16
Close game but they came out on top. If Blount can only play like that all game long.
Cardinals 16    Last Week:14
Last minute loss, but the chemistry is growing.
Cowboys 17    Last Week:18
The injuries may end any chances.
Rams 18    Last Week:17
 They need Jackson back ASAP!
Titans 19    Last Week:20
Don’t know what to make of their win, time will tell.
Raiders 20    Last Week:21
The Raiders need to stop with these last play games.
Panthers 21    Last Week:24
400+ yd games and 0-2…..can the ROY be on a losing team?
Giants 22    Last Week:23
Not pretty but they got it done.
Dolphins 23    Last Week:19
The “Best” CB tandem in the league has been MIA.
Jaguars 24    Last Week:13
Time to start Gabbert….I don’t think you will hear the chants though.
49ers 25    Last Week:27
Tough loss….but they are looking better than most people thought they would.
Browns 26    Last Week:31
They won, at least thats something to be happy about.
Broncos 27    Last Week:32
Why put in Tebow when Orton is winning.
Bengals 28    Last Week:30
Close game, but Dalton needs to be more on target.
Vikings 29    Last Week:28
AP is the only thing making this team be even close to winning.
Colts 30    Last Week:15
Look who just entered the Luck raffle!
Seahawks 31    Last Week:29
Couldn’t decide who was worse….this should be a tie for last place.
Chiefs 32    Last Week:22
Wow…..if the news couldn’t get any worse. No Charles? Might as well call the season.

I was 13-3 in this weeks selections. Pretty good for a girl if you ask me and on par with a lot of the “Expert” picks. The ones that I got wrong were close games but more so I think everyone got the Ravens game wrong. It was a pretty good week but injuries are looming large and that should have a lot of people worried.

I do need to say one thing about the season so far that has been bugging me. I know technically this new rule was created to make things more “Fair” but the reviewing every scoring play that is questionable not only is taking too much time but its ruining the flow of football. Football shouldn’t be fair it should be called as it is and if a team wants to challenge let them. The time it takes to review is driving people crazy in fact the Bills fans left even though technically the officials were still reviewing the INT at the end of the game. Quit the reviews, quit the flags and let them play!

Chiefs V. Lions-  The Chiefs may be the worst team in the league at this point, and even more so now that Charles is out for the season with a torn ACL. Thank god I didn’t draft him when he was the next logical choice! But two weeks in a row a team scored 40 points on them. Their defense is just as much to blame as Matt Cassels pitiful playing is. The Lions on the other hand are showing why some are seeing a playoff berth in their future.

Seahawks V. Steelers- Not much to say except for it was expected from the Steelers after their pitiful showing last week. It helped that they were at home against a team that doesn’t quite know where they fit. The Seahawks were shut out for the first time since they last played the Steelers four years ago. I don’t see much that I like from the Seahawks and between them and KC I don’t really know who is worse.

Bears V. Saints- Its not like the Bears didn’t try its just the Saints are the better team. Which is why I don’t consider the Bears a top tier team in the NFC. Six sacks and a fumble for Cutler will win no one games. The Bears have a good defense but the Saints were able to score 30 on them. The Saints showed why last week was just a close game against two dominant teams. I think that if the Saints and Packers play again you may see something different. It also looks likes Sproles will be the back that Bush couldn’t consistently be.

Jaguars V. Jets- It was a very difficult day for the Jags, Mccown was intercepted 4 times and sacked by the rookie Wilkerson for  a safety. It didn’t help that the Jets offense started off strong and kept going. Sanchez was far from perfect but the Jags D was on the field so much I think they just tired out. Gabbert came in the 4th quarter and actually looked pretty good, I think he will start next week. The Jets running game still hasn’t gone anywhere and if they want to keep winning they need to get it started.

Browns V. Colts- I hate to be right about how bad the Colts are but it is just sad right now. I started thinking how have they not had a contigency plan in place? Peyton isn’t young by football standards, even the Patriots have Mallett in their back pocket. The Browns on the other hand have Hillis to thank again even though Mccoy had a good game.

Cardinals V. Redskins- I knew this would be a close one and it sure was. It was a back and forth match up while Kolb is still getting his Cardinal’s footing. Grossman didn’t get picked off by Rhodes but he did get picked off twice. Wells is doing good as the Cardinals front man while the Skins seem to be a great fit for Hightower. I think that these are teams that can only get better, but I am not sold on Grossman or the Skins as a playoff team.

Packers V. Panthers- This started out quite odd and the Panthers ran up to a 13-0 lead. Cam Newton was looking like a phenom until reality set in and we was introduced to one  Charles Woodson. It doesn’t seem to matter how old he gets in his 14th season he still can read a QB like no one else. In the mean time Rogers was able to get into his groove and showed why the superbowl champs should be considered a repeat threat.

Buccaneers V. Vikings- Watching this game up until the 3rd quarter I thought what the hell was I thinking? Betting against AP? But then I remembered what I like about this Bucs team and that is their youth. Blount helped to finish them off with a last minute TD. The Vikings have a lot of talent but they seemed to lack the leadership that they need. When is the last time the Vikings had a true QB leader? Until they get that they have a long season to get through. AP can’t do it all.

Ravens V. Titans- Ummm….I don’t know what to say or which is more shocking. The fact that the Titans won with very little coming out of CJ or the fact that the Ravens looked like a big hot mess! The Ravens caused the Steelers to 7 turnovers, where they could only get one from the Titans. I don’t know what to make of this game at all and it will be the HUH? game for the next couple of weeks. But riddle me this….if the Jets beat the Jags who beat the Titans who beat the Ravens who beat the Steelers does that make the Jets better than the Steelers? HA! That one is for my Steeler friends.

Raiders V. Bills- At first I thought this was going to go the Raiders way and I thought to myself how could I think the Bills would go 2-0? But then something set off Fitzpatrick and Freddie J, I like these two and hopefully for their sake they stay under the radar. Big heads usually cause big mistakes when given too early. Let them hang with the Pats next week and they can start talking. The Raiders were still looking pretty good and just like last year between the Texans and Jags a last minute hail mary was the decision maker. Mcfadden will be their saving grace.

Cowboys V. Niners- Oh lord here come the Romo is a hero stories. Dude has a broken rib and comes in and wins the game. Great good for him, I think that is what Cutler should have done last year in the post season. However, doing it week 2 is not the smartest thing for a team that is getting injured like crazy. Dez Bryant didn’t play and Miles Austin hurt himself again. Oh be carefull Romo one game isn’t worth your whole season. The Niners on the other hand are showing more life than even I gave to them but I just don’t know if that is going to equate into many wins.

Chargers V. Patriots- The UGH! game of the week. I think more teams are intimidate by the Pats in name more than in game. Brady’s great don’t get me wrong but the defense not so much. The Chargers have some weapons that should have made this a much closer game than it was. I hope that the Pats future opponents are paying attention to their Tight end plays otherwise it will be quite a while before the Pats drop a game to anyone.

Bengals V. Broncos- So apparently I actually didn’t pick a winner last week in my predictions I was so torn on who was the worst out of the two. But I know I was leaning towards the Bengals to win cause of Benson so I will say that I didn’t get this one. But it was pretty close and the awfulness was just the same. The Broncos keep hurting themselves and there is no consistency with the Bengals.

Texans V. Dolphins- Someone in my league unfortunately drafted both Manning and Foster. However, he has such a good draft he still won both games so far. It goes to show just like the Texans are proving you need to have a good team not just a great player. Foster was limited in play but it didn’t matter because Tate for the second week in a row that he is just as good. One of these guys will probably not be in Houston next year. The Texans are more and more looking like the real thing however the next two weeks will help define their season when they play the Saints and Steelers. Miami on the other hand can’t be too disappointed besides an 0-2 start. Henne isn’t playing horribly and they do play the Browns next week. So things could be looking up.

Eagles V. Falcons- What everyone loves about Vick is what I don’t like about him. He is quick and knows how to make plays but he is also careless when he has the ball. It proved to be the downfall in this game with Vick’s 3 turnovers. It also didn’t help that he injured himself towards the end either. The Falcons didn’t play that well they just got the ball in nice places. If they want to keep winning games they need to get out of the gate faster.

Rams V. Giants- I hated to be right on this one. But Bradford does not have enough weapons to cover the fact that Jackson isn’t playing. Its not like the Giants were dominant in any way its that their offensive weapons were available to make crazy catches and their weakend defense were able to breathe not having to chase Jackson down. It wasn’t a pretty game, but if the Rams don’t get a healthly Jackson back it won’t be a happy season and that means we may see a losing record win the division again!

{September 16, 2011}   Week 2 Predictions-Best week yet!

For the first time since Week 13 of 1968, there are no division games scheduled. Which to be honest makes for an interesting week. There are a lot of interesting matchups between good teams, bad teams, and the mediocre teams. This may help to find out who is for real and who just had a good week 1!

Chiefs V. Lions-  The Chiefs need to figure out what is and isn’t working after a blow out at home. The problem is they are playing and up and coming play maker in the Lions. The lions looked good last week and made the running game of the Bucs disappear. Unfortunately the Chiefs best game lies in their running backs. Its not looking good for the Chiefs this year! I am taking the Lions in this one.

Seahawks V. Steelers- Lucky for the Steelers they have the Seahawks in their home opener. Nothing seemed to work for the Seahawks last week against a pretty weakend Niners team. They definitely can’t win if they let two TD’s happen on special teams. The Steelers on the other hand to me just faced a crazed opponent that had their number since the post season. I think they bounce back easily this week to win their home opener.

Bears V. Saints- There is a lot of talk this week about the Bears after their win over the Falcons. I am still having a problem with their offensive line. I know their defense is good, but the Saints is a whole other level of offense. This will be a test of the Bears and prep them for the Packers. The Saints looked good in their premiere despite the loss, if given a few more minutes they could have won that game. I know my Bears friends hate when people doubt them but I like the Saints. If the Bears do win though, I will have them as the number 2 team in the NFC.

Jaguars V. Jets- This could end up being an interesting matchup. The Jets defense didn’t perform up to expectations, however the Jags have a very vulnerable QB. But in the same sense the Jags defense stopped CJ2K from doing pretty much anything. This game will only go the Jets way if the offense can throw the ball and their defense plays better. I think that the Jags offense with MJD can make plays but I will give this one to the Jets.

Browns V. Colts- The Browns had a rough week last week against a bad Bengals team. The Colts have realized that they can’t survive without Manning. I do not see much changing for the Colts this week. They couldn’t stop Ward/Tate, and I don’t think they will be able to stop Hillis. If the Browns can’t win against a weakend Colts team then they have a very long year to look forward to.

Cardinals V. Redskins- Both teams won but against questionable teams. It will be an interesting match up to say the least with Hightower playing against his old team. Kolb looked good last week during his premiere and the Skins’ defense finally showed some teamwork. I think this could come down to defense and it really could go either way. This is hard but I am will pick the Cardinals. I think Rhodes will pick Grossman.

Packers V. Panthers- Poor Cam Newton…he shines in his debut and losses and now? Well he gets to face the defending superbowl champs who looked unstoppable last week. The bigger issue? Beason is out for the season. I really don’t think that Cam has a chance against this defense but more importantly Rodgers will be able to pick apart that defense. I think that the Packers will easily win this one.

Buccaneers V. Vikings- The Bucs had a close game last week against the Lions, while I think Mcnabb may have had his worst game ever with the Vikings. There is a lot of promise in the Bucs but they need to get the running game going. On the other hand the Vikings running game seems to be all they have. I don’t see another Harvin TD return this week….so I pick the Bucs.

Ravens V. Titans- The Ravens looked the best I have seen them since they beat the Patriots in the playoffs two years ago. The Titans on the other hand are still trying to figure things out. CJ2K couldn’t get things rolling last week and I don’t think he will have the ability to do much against this defense. If Ray Rice stays being a factor and Flacco is clean they should pick up this win.

Raiders V. Bills- The Bills surprised a lot of people last week, me being one of them based on the losses on defense. However, it was more Fitzpatrick that helped this team. While Raiders have been great at special teams and running the football. However, I think both of these teams are too unpredictable. Mcfadden may be the decider in this one but last week Charles couldn’t get going last week against the Bills. So I will go with the Bills on this one.

Cowboys V. Niners- Talk about a bitter rivalry. These teams saw a lot of each other in the 90’s but we are far removed from their glory days. The Niners started out fresh and were able to capitalize on a weak Seahawks team. However, the first 3 quarters the Cowboys looked like they were going to live up to last years hopes. Its hard for me to say this since my brother will hate me, but I like the Cowboys in this one.

Chargers V. Patriots- If the Chargers want to be considered a top tier team they need to beat the Patriots. The Chargers had the best offense and defense last year but they also had a fairly weak schedule where they were able to walk all over teams. The Patriots on the other hand have the explosive offense. This could end up being a very high offense game. I do not think either defense is equipped to battle the others offense. In the end at home I have to go with the Pats.

Bengals V. Broncos- These two teams in my opinion are two of the worse teams in the league. However, The Bengals have Benson and the Broncos? Well they have a big mess. They had big playmakers on defense get injured as well as zero running game. I am not sure how to feel about either of these teams

Texans V. Dolphins- The Texans looked good in their debut against a very weakend Colts team. While even though demolished the Fins actually looked better than what most people thought they would. In the 1st half at least. However, I think the Fins are a better team than the Colts and should give us a better look at the Texans capabilities. I think this will be a defining week for them and I think the Texans will take this one.

Eagles V. Falcons- This one is hard cause based on last weeks performance I believe that the Eagles should win this one hands down. The problem becomes that Vick will be in Atlanta for the first time as a starter and the Falcons are pretty dominant at home. I belive that last week was a fluke for the Falcons and they are better than that. The Eagles weren’t perfect on defense and I belive that the Falcons will win.

Rams V. Giants- First Oakland V. Denver on MNF and now this? I like the Rams don’t get me wrong, but this match up in general is so boring. Especially when you look at the other games on the schedule. However, both of these teams are beat up and it could go either way. Stephen Jackson is out, and the Giants defense is weak. Good news is Nicks should be playing. But Eli didn’t throw a TD last week. Its hard because I like the Rams but without Jackson and Bradford not 100% I have to give this one to the Giants.

 Packers  1   Last Week:1
Close game, but out of the gates dominant! They keep the top spot.
Ravens 2    Last Week:7
I have been a big fan of the Ravens and they finally broke through the Steel Curtain!
Eagles 3   Last Week: 2
Dream team? Not sold yet but a solid performance from Vick and company.
Patriots 4    Last Week:3
Yes they won but It took a while to get into it against a Dolphins team who kept it close going into the 2nd half.
Jets 5   Last Week: 4
They barely squeaked out a win, but it was a win.
Saints 6    Last Week:6
Back to Back losses is not the norm, but they did almost come back and the offense was strong.
Bears 7   Last Week:11
They go up the ranks based on a dominant performance. But we will see if it will hold.
Texans 8    Last Week:17
Maybe this is a leap, but I liked their dominance without their star player.
Falcons 9   Last Week: 5
Embarassing loss, but they had the offensive numbers they just couldn’t get it in. (Yes, that’s what she said) I think they will turn it around
Chargers 10    Last Week:10
Opening up with bad special teams leaves cause for concern. But they did get the “W”
Lions 11    Last Week:18
This is probably the leap people will be the most surprised about. If Stafford stays healthy this year they could be the dark horse.
Steelers 12    Last Week:8
Just sloppy, but their home opener vs. the Seahawks should help them.
Jaguars 13    Last Week:13
They won which is what counted, however they were not dominant on their offense. I think that they can make an impact.
Cardinals 14    Last Week:19
Kolb looked great in his debut. But the Panthers weren’t that great of an opponent. They have a fairly week schedule which could see them with more wins than expected.
Colts 15    Last Week:9
Take away Manning and you get a high school football team. I can’t fully drop them down yet but I don’t forsee good things for them.
Buccaneers 16    Last Week:16
Yes, they lost but they still have some good things going for them. Blount needs to break out.
Rams 17    Last Week:14
I don’t know how they will do without Jackson, but at least Bradford will play.
Cowboys 18    Last Week:20
They lose but move up based on the 1st three quarters. They made plays that no one expected from them.
Dolphins 19    Last Week:22
Another team that impressed in a loss….did anyone expect Henne to play as good as he did?
Titans 20    Last Week:21
If CJ doesn’t get the yards they will not win.
Raiders 21    Last Week:23
63 yard field goal? They need to have more than Janikowski’s foot to rely on.
Chiefs 22    Last Week:15
Losing at home? Just proves that last year could be a fluke.
Giants 23    Last Week:12
Thje injuries of the off season have carried over, Giants fans should be worried.
Panthers 24    Last Week:27
Cam looked great in his debut, their problem will be losing Beason on defense.
Bills 25    Last Week:26
I was surprised but probably not as most. I like Fitzpatrick.
Redskins 26    Last Week:31
Their star players on defense are finally working as a a complete unit.
49ers 27    Last Week:28
They win, but Ginn can’t do this every week.
Vikings 28    Last Week:25
Just bad, its a shame that AP will go to waste.
Seahawks 29    Last Week:28
I still don’t know what Carroll was thinking with Jackson, but their random playoff win last year will keep his job.
Bengals 30    Last Week:32
Benson won the game, but I don’t think Bengal fans should get excited.
Browns 31    Last Week:29
Madden Curse begins
Broncos 32    Last Week:30
They couldn’t get anything going, I think we will see every QB play this year on their roster.

{September 13, 2011}   Week 1 Round Up

On a very emotional weekend for America, the NFL was back to business. For a few moments all the teams were just citizens of this beautiful country. Then to all of our enjoyment they went back to their respective teams and tore each other apart.

Saints V. Packers- This game was just as I suspected high scoring craziness! The Pack jumped right back in from where they left off last year. They jumped early to a 14-0 lead and the Saints were playing catchup the rest of the game. Both teams looked good once they got into the 2nd half, but the Packers had the early motivation. These teams may meet up again in the playoffs.

Steelers V. Ravens- My favorite game of the week. I have been a major supporter of the Ravens the last few years. I think that they are a great team that has been underrated. Where I think that the Steelers are overrated. But in this competition the Ravens always seem to falter when it comes to this rivalry. Well step child no more. The Ravens made a statement that they will play second fiddle to no one. We will see what happens when they meet again in Pittsburgh Week 9.

Bengals V. Browns- Even the injury of their starting QB didn’t stop the Bengals some how. I think Benson not having a cloud over his head going into the game helped as did their back up QB. I knew this could go either way being two of the most consistently inconsistent teams in the league and in the same division. I think it will be a few weeks before we know what either these teams are capable of.

Colts V. Texans- There’s a reason why certain teams succeed without any one player, and why others collapse. Case in point are the Colts, not much has changed except for the gaping hole behind the center. The Texans on the other hand proved that Foster is a bonus not a necessity to win games. I like the way they played and if Schaub can stay consistent they have a good chance for a lot of wins.

Titans V. Jaguars- What this comes down to is MJD performed while CJ2K did not. It ended up being only a 2 point game. The Jags did prove their doubters wrong after a lot of questions came up from dumping Garrard less than a week prior. However, their defense did their job and MJD came out swinging. Another two teams that we will need to see play more to truly know how they will play.

Falcons V. Bears- The Falcons surely didn’t deserve my pre season hype. However, when you look at the numbers there were some great supporting stats. It was the Bears defense that ran this game, they were able to hold the Falcons to just field goals. I do not believe in the Bears as of yet I am sure I will hear about it from my Chicago peeps. If they continue to play this good then the Packers will need to keep an eye on them. The Falcons however I believe will improve off of this game. I still think they are a high caliber team!

Eagles V. Rams- This played out exactly the way I thought it would. The Rams tried their little hearts out, but the big bad “dream” team pounced on them. I am not big on Vick, he makes the plays but he puts himself in very dangerous territory. McCoy proved he’s a great back and I wish that Vick would let him do the running before he hurts himself yet again. The Rams on the other hand had their two top players get injured which makes me a little worried.

Lions V. Bucs- I loved this game, both young teams played hard. I wouldn’t be surprised to see either of these teams as serious contenders in the next coupld of years. However, I think the Bucs need to work on their running game some more. These will be two fun teams to watch grow and I think they have a lot going for them.

Bills V. Chiefs- I do not know what to say on this one. The Bills surprised a lot of people, but I have liked Fitzpatrick since the end of last season. But I did not believe in the gaping holes in their defense. I think this was more about the Chiefs and their known easy schedule last year. Losing at home was something they don’t often do. I think this year might not be good for them.

Seahawks V. Niners- Not that I expected much from this game, but I will say that Ted Ginn Jr. was the star of this show. Other than his two returns for TD’s the game was pretty tame. Both teams didn’t see much from their offense and running games were non existent. I don’t expect much from either team but I think that maybe we will get a better idea next week.

Giants V. Redskins- Wow! That is really all I can say about this game. Grossman actually looked like a professional football player. Hightower helped the run game and the passes were spread out. The Skins defense looked great as well. I still am not sure what happened with the Giants as I don’t fully buy into the Skins’. However, I think it seemed obvious after the preseason that they have a lot to overcome. They better hope that Nicks injury isn’t too serious.

Panthers V. Cardinals- This is a game I believe everyone was interested in seeing. Two new QB’s with a lot on their shoulders. Both actually did very well but it ended up being the AZ defense holding the Panthers back with seconds winding down. I like what I see so far with the Panthers but Beason being out for the season will have some serious effects on their defense

Vikings V. Chargers- The Chargers did not start out well, in fact they started the season how it ended horrible at special teams. They said getting a kickoff returned would be rare this year and Harvin made it seem like a daily thing. Then at the half it seemed as maybe people were over hyping the Chargers all over again. But they ended up with 17 unanswered points in the 2nd half. Rivers started out the year with 2 INT’s he needs to keep an eye on those. Mcnabb on the other hand brought nothing to the team as most thought. Unfortunately, I think he needs to be done after this year.

Cowboys V. Jets- The Jets should count their lucky Romos! They did not play well but thanks to last minute costly errors by Romo and a blocked punt they some how were able to pull it off. Thank you Nick Folk. However, the Cowboys did play a great first half and they need to focus more on that. But with a very weakened secondary they need to be worried about that. The Jets on the other hand need to find their way back to ground and pound or they will be playing catchup all season long.

Patriots V. Dolphins- Brady’s a god on a pedestal! At least that is what Jon Gruden would make you think. I thought commentators were supposed to be a little more unbias. They kept talking about this being is 1st INT since October. Apparently everyone has forgotten about his INT during the playoff game against the Jets. The Dolphins did surprise me though, and I think if they continue to play hard they will win more games. However, I think their CB’s just proved they aren’t the best tandem in the league.

Raiders V. Broncos- This game was difficult to watch. It was a mess to begin with and kept having issues. The Broncos couldn’t get a running game going and The Raiders had no passing game. The Broncos had a bigger blow with injuries to Dumervil and Bailey. The Broncos have a lot of issues that they need to address, and I don’t see things looking up. However, the Raiders have to be happy with Mcfadden and thankful for Janikowski’s leg.

{September 7, 2011}   Week 1 Predictions

Football season is officially upon us….seems to have taken forever to get here. But now we must rejoice and see how thing will go for our respective teams oh and of course our fantasy teams!

Here we go!

Saints V. Packers- I think that this game can help define the season for the winner of these teams. The last two Superbowl winners that both have a lot to prove. The Saints were eliminated early in the playoffs this year while the Packers were thought to have been riding a wave of luck. The Pack has many players back off IR and I think that they make a statement to win the game.

Steelers V. Ravens- Steelers need to prove themselves after the Superbowl loss but more importantly, the Ravens need to prove they are better than the Steelers. This has become one of the most heated rivalries in the NFL the last few years and I can honestly say that I don’t know who will win this one. They split the series last year. However, this is in Baltimore so I will give the Ravens the benefit.

Bengals V. Browns- Bad V. Worse as it should be known. I have more faith in McCoy and Hillis than Dalton and the surround offense. I don’t think either of these teams are going to do great this year but the Bengals will end up with the worst record in the AFC.

Colts V. Texans- Manning isn’t back and the team has many players coming off IR. If the Texans really want to make a statement, they need to win this game. The Texans have made improvements to their defense that has plagued them for the last few years. If the Texans can’t get past a very wounded Colts team they should be worried.

Titans V. Jaguars- CJ2K is back and the Jags just cut their starting QB. I know the Titans will be a little rough out of the gate with new QB’s. However, starting Mccown have officially made the Jaguars go down a couple of steps in my book. They do have the defense though, but I will give it to a healthy CJ and experienced Hasselbeck.

Falcons V. Bears- Julio Jones looks like a great addition for the Falcons. Roddy White and him could be a dangerous combo for the offense. I think that there is a lot of promise in this team and in the NFC, I think they will be battling for the top spot. The Bears on the other hand still have a lot of issues that they need to address. I think the Falcons take this one.

Eagles V. Rams- I like the Rams and I think they will be a playoff team, mostly due to their week division. However, playing the Eagles week 1 will be a little tough for them to make a statement. The Eagles have many weapons but no one knows if they will gel well together. Nevertheless, I think the Rams do not have the experience to win this one.

Lions V. Bucs- These are two big up and coming teams. I love this matchup, two young QB’s with great breakout players. I will go with defense on this and I do not think that the Bucs have the power to beat Suh and the newly acquired Tulloch. It could go either way but I will give advantage to the Lions.

Bills V. Chiefs- Chiefs had a very easy schedule last year that led them to the playoffs. This year they start out easy but have a much rougher schedule ahead. Playing against the Bills that are missing key play makers from last year give them the easing in to the season they need. Plus they are at home, which for the Chiefs has been a huge advantage. I will pick the Chiefs in this one.

Seahawks V. Niners- Oh lord, the bad versus the really bad. Neither has a true starting QB despite what the Seahawks say about Jackson. So, I will break it down to their ground and pound. Gore is a better back than either Lynch or Forsett. I am not so sure I am sold on either defense though. I will go with the Niners on this one but I really do not know.

Giants V. Redskins- The Giants have had major injuries on their defense during the preseason but they still have massive weapons on offense. While the Redskins although ranked 31st in defense last year have some big playmakers on their D, but their offense seems to be MIA. I do not believe it matters who starts for them the Giants 3rd string should be able to hold them back.

Panthers V. Cardinals- Kolb and Newton’s premiere, which are probably two of the QB’s people, have been waiting to see. We have yet to see Kolb play a full season but he’s had some powerful games. It doesn’t hurt that he has Fitz to throw to either. The problem is their running back situation, the Panthers on the other hand are uncertain everywhere. I will take the Cardinals in this one.

Vikings V. Chargers- The Chargers have a lot to prove after last year’s playoff hopes went down. They need to win early and stop relying on winning at the end of the season. They are healthy and should be ready to go. The Vikings lose one of their go to guys in Sidney Rice but still have AP. Will that be enough? I am not sold on Mcnabb and haven’t been since he left Washington. But I think he has a better chance then they did with Tavaris. But I have to go with the experienced togetherness the Chargers have in this one.

Cowboys V. Jets- The Cowboys at least have their starting QB back, but I didn’t see a lot of change to impress me in this new year. The Jets are at home on September 11th and need to start the year off right. The Cowboys have a weakened secondary and I think that the Jets new vertical threat will be very active. I will take the Jets in this one.

Patriots V. Dolphins- There is nothing that the Dolphins have done this offseason to make me think they will have anything going for them this year. However, interdivisional play is always up in the air. The problem is that the Patriots are out to make a statement. Their losses in the last two years in the playoffs have made them want to win even more. I think the Dolphins might want a mercy rule in this game.

Raiders V. Broncos- Umm….is there anything worth talking about in this game? Why is it a Monday Night game anyways? The Raiders need McFadden to truly break out in order to help build their future. I am not convinced with their QB situation either. Same thing goes for the Broncos though. I think this will come down to defense and special teams. While Denver has some great defensive playmakers, the Raiders have done well in causing turnovers. Not to mention their sweep of the division last year. Boring game most likely but I think the Raiders win it.
