 Happy Halloween! Be Safe!

BYE’s: Falcons, Ravens, Bears, Browns, Giants, Eagles

Denver V. San Francisco- The Broncos are coming off an embarrassing loss against the Raiders, while the Niners not only lost the game last week but also lost their inadequate QB due to a separated shoulder. So the other Smith will be starting when these two duke it out in London. Because its out of the country, I don’t know how that will affect either team. But the Niners are undefeated outside the U.S. I will go with them.

Jacksonville V. Dallas- Romo is out, and Garrard might be out as well. I think its important that some sort of running game gets going for the Jaguars. However it’s not like the Cowboys look like they can do much damage at this point. I will take the Jags in this.

Miami V. Cincinnati- These are two teams that are stuck in middle of the AFC. If either want to be taken seriously they need to make a big statement and win big this week. The Fins are undefeated on the road this year, but the Bengals need the win at home. I liked the way the Fins looked last week even with the loss, I will take them this week.

Buffalo V. Kansas City- The Bills showed a little bit of life last week but couldn’t keep it going to finish the job. The Chiefs on the other hand threw it down and won last week showing that they should be taken seriously. The makeover of the stadium and this team is having an impact in the west. The Chiefs win this one!

Washington V. Detroit- I always want to root for the underdog like the Lions, but with all the injuries I don’t think they can take this one. The Redskins are improving every week and seem to be showing themselves as a competitor. I really think they are playoff contenders in the NFC, Torrain is really coming out of his shell. The Skins’ got this one!

Carolina V. St. Louis- The Panthers might have got their first win, but I don’t know how consistent they can be. The Rams are good at home and have the fire to win. I like the Rams to take this one.

Green Bay V. New York Jets- Revis says he’s 100% now, and the rest of the Jets got some rest from their BYE week. The Pack on the other hand is tired and hurting. They still have the talent but they look exhausted. I like the fresh Jets to take this one at home.

Tennessee V. San Diego- The Chargers are still statistically the best team in football but can’t get a win for the life of them. The Titans on the other hand keep finding ways to win and different players to win it for them. If they play like they did last week they have this one. Charger fans might not get the comeback they normally expect every year if the Titans pull it off. I think the Titans will do it.

Minnesota V. New England- Favre is making his team worse, he needs to stop being selfish and let someone who is healthy play. The Patriots are doing their calm under the radar winning streak, which makes them pretty scary. I don’t think the Vikings are healthy enough nor strong enough to pull this one out. I have to take the Pats with this one…….unfortunately!

Tampa Bay V. Arizona- The Cardinals don’t seem to be really put together right now, its like they still having missing pieces. The Bucs on the other hand are still in the race and are a great young team taking wins where they can get them. I see the Bucs coming out on this.

Seattle V. Oakland- The Raiders had a crazy good week last night, while the Hawks just passed a dismal Cards team. I really like the Raiders spunk this year. I think they are finally believing in themselves. The Hawks on the other hand are just trying to hold on to the NFC West as long as they can. But its Halloween, the Raiders, and their in Oakland!

Pittsburgh V. New Orleans- Oh boy! Now the superdome can be hard to play in normally, but I can’t imagine what it will look like on Halloween. But the Saints are playing horribly and Bush is still out. The Steelers on the other hand have been the dominate team in football although they almost floundered last week. But their ok play has been way better than what the Saints have been showing all year. Steelers win this one.

Houston V. Indianapolis- This is a week 1 rematch, the problem for the Colts coming off their bye is a very hurt receiving core. The Texans on the other hand seem to be getting stronger. It’s hard to go against Manning at home, but the Texans have something to prove. I like the Texans!

{October 26, 2010}   Week 8 Rankings
 Steelers  1   Last Week:1
They barely won, but they won and that’s what counts.
Jets 2    Last Week:3
BYE week to rest the boys, they have the Pack next.
Patriots 3 Last Week: 5
They keep winning even when the team doesn’t look the best, hurts to put them here but no one is impressing me.
Colts 4  Last Week:4
I don’t know what they are going to do without Clark and Collie, we shall see.
Falcons 5 Last Week: 6
I still like the Falcons in the NFC, although people are leaping on the Giants error boat
Ravens 6  Last Week:3
Sloppy play lowers them, but the win keeps them pretty high.
Chiefs 7 Last Week:10
They are proving that they are a threat in the AFC, an easy schedule is helping them along.
Packers 8  Last Week:7
Can’t tell if they’re going up or down, they have a tough schedule coming up.
Redskins 9   Last Week: 12
I can really see the Skins’ making the playoffs this year.
Giants 10  Last Week:13
People are loving them, but I still think they are making too many mistakes even with the wins.
Titans 11  Last Week:17
The Titans really worked the Eagles this week, I wonder what else they have.
Eagles 12  Last Week:11
Looks like Vick is back in the pocket after the BYE
Saints 13  Last Week:7
Losing to the Browns? I can’t imagine what’s to come.
Texans 14  Last Week:13
Bye week hopefully helps get things together consistently
Bears 15  Last Week:7
Cutler can’t get protected and can’t not throw an interception, they might be trickling their way down.
Dolphins 16  Last Week:15
They hung with the big boys, but in a crowded AFC they have to win.
Bengals 17  Last Week:17
They got a good flow going with the passing game, but they just couldn’t finish.
Seahawks 18  Last Week:18
They’re division sucks, so a win in it doesn’t say much.
Rams 19  Last Week:19
They lost a tough one but are still a good young team
Buccaneers 20  Last Week:21
The Bucs capitalized on a team that couldn’t finish.
Raiders 21  Last Week:25
Throwing it out there, they want to be taken seriously
Chargers 22  Last Week:23
Showed some life, however they need to win games and step it up.
Broncos 23  Last Week:20
Its not looking good in the Mile High
Jaguars 24  Last Week:21
MJD needs to step it up, if they want to go anywhere
Vikings 25  Last Week:22
It could be over after this week, they need to set it up.
Cardinals 26  Last Week:24
Bad plays, weak division, still have a chance.
Lions 27  Last Week:28
BYE week might help them figure things out.
Browns 28  Last Week:30
Mangini might not get fired now.
Cowboys 29  Last Week:27
Its Over for them, I think its time for a real GM.
49ers 30  Last Week:29
Still killing themselves.
Panthers 31  Last Week:31
Moore hung in there this week, but they aren’t moving up til he doesn’t two weeks in a row.
Bills 32  Last Week:32
Made some great place but couldn’t hold on, can’t move them up as they are the only winless team now.

BYEs- Lions, Texans, Colts, Jets

Cincinnati V. Atlanta- The Falcons started off hot, going in to the half 24-3. But the Bengals came back swinging in the third quarter and even took the lead until the 4th quarter where the Falcons got their fire back and the Bengals couldn’t hang. Palmer was able to get out of his slump but it wasn’t enough 412 yds and 3 TD’s there is something just not clicking for them. Turner however finally broke it out for the Falcons. His play is what they have been missing.

Pittsburgh V. Miami- This was way too close for comfort for the Steelers. This was a sloppy game, by the Steelers. Big Ben had 3 fumbles! I didn’t see all of them but he was having issues, including a very lucky botched call by the refs. The Fins on the other hand could have had this, but this is where Henne’s inexperience gets him.

Buffalo V. Baltimore – The Ravens should consider themselves lucky! I don’t know which would have been worse, The Ravens losing to the Bills or the Browns beating the Saints. Either way, this was an awful 1st half for the Ravens. This seemed to be a fumble ridden week. The Ravens have their second OT game in a row. They really should look at tapes next week on their bye and work on getting Rice moving. The Bills should again be happy with Fitzpatrick, he may not be the total future but he sure is looking good for them now.

Jacksonville V. Kansas City- The Jags at least stuck with them for most of the game, but the Chiefs strong suit their running game went crazy, and their defense always has its eyes open. What’s funny is I remember the Chiefs being an offense only team for so long! MJD can’t break it out, this is what’s hurting the Jags right now.

Cleveland V. New Orleans- Colt Mccoy got his first win only having 74 yds and no TD’s! The Saints, namely Brees shot themselves this week. 4 INT’s, that right there is what handed the Browns the W. The Saints are looking bad. I just don’t know where they are going to fit in if they keep playing like this. But I didn’t know Hillis can throw the ball!

Washington V. Chicago- The Bears are not going to win another game unless they learn how to protect Cutler. But Cutler can’t throw 4 INT to the same guy in a game. Did he think Hall was Hester? Just sloppy play all around for the Bears, the Skins’ didn’t look great themselves. Mcnabb needs to get his turnovers in control as well.

San Francisco V. Carolina- The Niners apparently are a contender next year not this year. They are losing to themselves. I think that Singletary might get one more year, but I don’t think its just him. They have confidence issues. The Panthers looked ok, but I wouldn’t say they’re coming up. I still don’t think this is the last time the QB will be switched.

St. Louis V. Tampa Bay- The Rams just didn’t show up in the second half and let the Bucs win this one. These are two young teams that I think have a lot of potential. Bradford, I think still is holding on to the Offensive rookie of the year. He’s pretty impressive even when it is bad.

Philadelphia V. Tennessee- It must be nice for the Eagles to have two good QB’s that when one has a bad week they just switch them out. I don’t think Kolb was the only thing wrong this week, they couldn’t get a running game going either. The Titans defense has been doing really well, plus Britt got passed everyone. I think the Eagles need this coming bye week to rest, they’ve been playing hard.

Arizona V. Seattle- Did these two teams play? I didn’t even try to watch this snoozefest. It doesn’t surprise me that the Seahawks pulled it out like predicted. But these NFC West games are so boring, I just have nothing to say on it.

New England V. San Diego- It was all Patriots in the game until the end, where the Chargers came within a foot of tying up the game. I think this shows a spark for the Chargers who haven’t been looking good. The Pats on the other hand keep getting lucky.

Oakland V. Denver – So the Raiders scored an all time franchise high, and Mcfadden finally broke through! Their receiving core still needs work, but I think that the Raiders are putting it down that they’re for real this year. The Broncos just looked, well how they have been looking. Mediocre.

Minnesota V. Green Bay- Stick a fork in them…….Favre might look back on this and go why didn’t I retire on a high! Broken bones might finally end Favre’s starting streak, but I think the Vikes need someone to jump-start them. Rodgers didn’t look great either but he made it count. In the end the Pack is now sharing the top spot in the NFC North.

New York Giants V. Dallas– The Giants keep winning although they make mistakes that other teams can’t capitalize on. The Cowboy’s lose Romo due to a broken collarbone. But Kitna stepped in nicely and kept it competitive. The Cowboys are off to their worst start since 1989. I think they are also out for the count.

Sorry for the delay, way too busy of a week. But here are your week 7 picks!

BYEs- Lions, Texans, Colts, Jets

Cincinnati V. Atlanta- The Bengals are coming off a bye week, I don’t know if this will help their offense or not. But hopefully it didn’t hurt it, while the Falcons didn’t look good last week. I think this game could go either way, as both of these offenses have been back and forth. But I am going to call the Falcons and give their defense the win.

Pittsburgh V. Miami- The fins have been known to surprise people but can they stop the Steelers? I just don’t know if they’re strong enough to be able to go up against this crazy defense and I don’t think that the Fins defense is good enough to contain Big Ben. Sorry dude, I will always call you that.

Buffalo V. Baltimore – I don’t see the Bills getting their first win in this match up. The Ravens are at home and they are going to take out last weeks tough fought lost and beat the Bills to pieces. I see Ray Rice coming out strong and a Ravens win.

Jacksonville V. Kansas City- The Jags were embarrassed on MNF, and Garrard looks to be sitting out this weekend with a concussion. The Chiefs on the other hand seem to be getting their passing game together, that with a great running game I see them winning this one at home.

Cleveland V. New Orleans- Mccoy is going to get the start again this week, but I think he will have another uphill battle. His first two starts against two top teams in the league kind of tough. But at least you can see he’s trying, Cribbs will be out so I don’t think Hillis can hold the team together. The Saints should be getting things together even more with the return of Sharper (the active player with the most INT in his career) and Bush might be back as well. I don’t think the Browns have a chance in the Superdome, Saints all the way.

Washington V. Chicago- These are two teams that are bordering on becoming great teams in a weak NFC. This game is important to both of them as they are both in divisions that can be and are competitive. I think both really rely on their QB’s in this one as both defenses have been doing their job. I really like what Torrain has done filling in for Portis, I am giving the Skins’ this one but could see it go both ways.

San Francisco V. Carolina- a 1 win team vs. a no-win team. I think the Panthers are such a mess though that I don’t think that they will be able to get their win here. I think the Niners are on a high from finally not beating themselves, although they have a lot to improve on. I think the Niners can get this together and pull it off against a hurting Panthers team.

St. Louis V. Tampa Bay- The Rams are coming off a great win where the defense really stepped it up, this would be their first road win of the season if they can pull it together. Both of the these teams are still in the playoff race, but for the Bucs with a harder division really need to keep pace and win this one. However, I really like how the Rams have been playing and I think they are coming in the better team. Jackson just needs 32 more yards to become the teams all time rusher, it’s too bad he will be on the road when it happens. I pick the Rams in this one invoking fear into their division that leagues worst team last year may be a division winning playoff team this year!

Philadelphia V. Tennessee- The Eagles are starting Kolb again, but Vick looks to be at least dressing and possibly playing some snaps. While Young is listed as questionable and didn’t really practice this week. I think its important for both running games to really heat up in this one. I really like how the Eagles have been playing though, even with the Titans strong win on MNF. The Titans have been too up and down for me this year. I am going with the Eagles on the road.

Arizona V. Seattle- This is an important game for both teams as there still isn’t a clear leader in the division. I really don’t know what’s going to happen here as the Cards have been winning by miracles practically and the Hawks have been really good when they win and really bad when they lose. I am going to give experience the upper hand on this one and take the Hawks at home.

New England V. San Diego- The Pats are coming off a OT win against a tough team, while the Chargers are coming off a tough loss against the Rams. I would love to say the Chargers rebound nicely at home but I don’t see that happening. I think the Patriots are going to be all over them.

Oakland V. Denver – This should be an actually good match up of interdivisional teams. Most people may not be interested in seeing it but I think it could be a great game. These two teams are still very much in the hunt and its an important game for them. The Broncos need to forget about their running game as it didn’t work for them last week and go back to passing the ball which has been working for them. The Raiders on the other hand really need their running game with beat up QB’s. Based on injuries and home field advantage I am going with the Broncos in this one.

Minnesota V. Green Bay- Another really important interdivision game this week. Both need to win, but the Vikings really need to win in order to keep in step. But the Pack can’t afford to fall another game behind the Bears. I really think this year is when the Pack comes out against Favre and hopefully Matthews will be all over him after missing last week. I like the Pack in this as last week really hurt them.

New York Giants V. Dallas– The Cowboys may have at this point dug themselves way too deep of a hole to get out of this one. But the Giants still can’t get fully together on all sides, they are good on offense one week, good on defense the next. I just don’t see the Cowboys being able to figure all of this out for Monday nights game. I am taking the Giants in this one.

 Steelers  1   Last Week:1
Big Ben improved an already great team, right now I think they are the most well rounded in the bunch.
Jets 2    Last Week:3
Sanchez can’t be perfect every week, but they still won
Ravens 3 Last Week: 2
They lost a tough OT Duel, but I still think they’re a better team than others in the AFC
Colts 4  Last Week:6
Manning and company might start coming down this list with the sloppy plays they’ve been happening even with wins.
Patriots 5 Last Week: 10
They won when they needed to and its obvious that Brady and Branch still have the chemistry.
Falcons 6  Last Week:5
I still think the Falcons are the best team in the NFC even with a loss, we will see what happens after this week.
Saints 7 Last Week:9
Who is Chris Ivory? Where has he been all season? I think this might be the offensive boost the champs needed.
Bears 8  Last Week:5
The NFC North might keep slipping down, while the NFC keeps climbing up
Packers 9   Last Week: 7
Ouch, losing so many players is really hurting them hopefully they can stay healthy the rest of the week
Chiefs 10  Last Week:8
The running game and defense is what’s carrying this team. They need Cassel to keep stepping up.
Eagles 11  Last Week:12
Kolb or Vick it doesn’t matter the Eagles are putting it out there that they are for real
Redskins 12  Last Week:11
Mcnabb needs to clean up but Torrain is looking like a great replacement for Portis.
Giants 13  Last Week:23
It seems they can’t be all around good, when the D is good the offense isn’t and visa versa.
Texans 14  Last Week:13
When the Offense comes together it can really work.
Titans 15  Last Week:17
Injury to Young could hurt but they beat a division rival nicely.
Dolphins 16  Last Week:15
Still can’t decide if they’re for real or just lucky
Bengals 17  Last Week:15
Hope the BYE week helped them figure out their offense better.
Seahawks 18  Last Week:26
They are looking good in the west, but that’s not saying much.
Rams 19  Last Week:25
Who needs a #1 receiver? Defense really came out.
Broncos 20  Last Week:20
Limiting Orton’s throwing was  a big mistake, their running game isn’t working for them
Buccaneers 21  Last Week:18
They lost to a strong team, but still a great young team with a lot of talent!
Vikings 22  Last Week:22
Sloppy win, but got it done, Harvin saved the day
Chargers 23  Last Week:19
Helps that everyone else lost in the AFC West too
Jaguars 24  Last Week:21
Horrible showing on MNF, they need to get it together in a strong division
Raiders 25  Last Week:23
So many things could help this team, but they first need to believe in themselves.
Cardinals 26  Last Week:24
BYE week may or may not help their QB situation, see Panthers
Lions 27  Last Week:28
They may have lost but they keep showing some great things even with a 3rd string QB in.
Cowboys 28  Last Week:27
The Cowboys are not able to finish anything at this point
49ers 29  Last Week:30
NINERS WON! But they are still making costly mistakes.
Browns 30  Last Week:29
They took some hits this week, and really showed they aren’t good all the time.
Panthers 31  Last Week:31
I don’t think a BYE will help their QB mess, its too bad.
Bills 32  Last Week:32
Maybe the BYE did them well….on the other hand maybe not.

Another crazy week, that really only proved one thing, the AFC is competitive, while the NFC only has a couple of bright shining lights.

Bye: Cardinals, Bills, Panthers, Bengals

Atlanta V. Philadelphia- This was a pretty interesting game for me, The Eagles definitely have an issue. That issue being who is going to lead this team! They have two QB’s that are doing a good job, one of these guys won’t be there next year that’s for sure. I am thinking one will be in Arizona maybe? The Falcons on the other hand, I really don’t know what happened here. Their running game is still lacking, and their defense seemed to take too long to get where they needed to be. I still like the Falcons in the NFC, but the Eagles really showed they want it this year. Hopefully Jackson will be ok, he will probably miss next week then they have a bye week to help him out.

Kansas City V. Houston- See what happens when I go against a team I want to actually win? They win! It definitely wasn’t easy though but for once Schaub started to look like a good QB. (Of course after I bench him on my fantasy) Cushings return was felt this week as the defense looked better. However don’t count the Chiefs out of this very close game that they could have easily won. Cassel finally had some good connections and a receiver over 100yds, TJ and Charles did there part as well. I still think the Chiefs have a good chance to do some damage it also helped that every AFC West team lost this week.

Cleveland V. Pittsburgh- I heard today that Rothlisberger doesn’t want to be called Big Ben anymore…..That’s just too bad cause Big Ben is back. 3 TD’s definitely excited Steeler fans today, and they can finally breath a sigh of relief that they have an offense to match their defense. The Browns should be glad that Mccoy played the whole game and despite some errors he made some good passes and 281yds in his debut. Could this be the future for the Browns? Well looking at the Browns pass, I think its too soon to tell!

Seattle V. Chicago- The Seahawks man, the F-ing Seahawks! They finally win on the road, and Lynch seems to be a nice addition for them helping Forsett out. The Bears on the other hand just couldn’t complete anything. Cutler had almost 300yds but no TD’s. Hester helped them out with two great returns, but only one counted. The Bears  are ok with a Green Bay loss.

Detroit V. New York Giants- The Lions were in it the whole way on a 3rd string QB, they have to be happy about that performance when everything else went wrong. Hill left with a broken arm, and Linebacker Follett had a big scare after a huge tackle left him on the ground and to the hospital. Its a hard year to be a Lion with all of the injuries they’ve had. But Stanton came in and was able to make some good plays with Calvin Johnson. So that’s a positive although Hill was doing really well for the team. The Giants on the other hand didn’t have the dominate defense they were having the last few weeks, but their offense finally stopped making as many mistakes as they have been and Eli finally didn’t throw a pick!

Baltimore V. New England- This wasn’t a pretty game, I didn’t really expect it to be as the Pats have a lot of hard feelings when it comes to the Ravens. Brady didn’t play well, but he was comfortable with Branch back on his team. Their running game still really lacks as Woodhead ended up being their lead rusher with 63 yds not bad for someone who was #5 running back on the Jets. The Ravens didn’t play horribly they just couldn’t capitalize when they needed to. I guess this time revenge won out in overtime.

San Diego V. St Louis- Its funny that the Chargers are statistically the best overall team in the top ten in almost every category on both sides of the ball coming into this week. But here they now sit 2-4, but like the Chiefs they do have the benefit that no one won in the AFC West this week. The Rams however really came out with their defense this week, they were all over Rivers and even sacked him 7 times. They held off the Chargers from scoring till there was only just over a minute left in the half. The Rams are still in it too, since their division is so bad!

Miami V. Green Bay- This was a pretty even game that went into OT, both QB’s had some good stats and each had a pick. But the Fins came out with the win. If the Pack is supposed to be at the top of the NFC, the NFC isn’t looking good right now.

New Orleans V. Tampa Bay- The Saints showed glimpses of the Superbowl winners from last year, the offense was divided amongst several players including a 100+ yd rusher that will have people going who is this guy? Ivory looked good as a replacement for an injured Thomas and Bush. The Bucs on the other hand couldn’t get things going. But they still are better than they were last year.

New York Jets V. Denver- It wasn’t pretty, but the Jets won. Sanchez was bound to eventually throw a pick but he’s still looking better then he was last year. The Broncos were hurt because Orton was only held to 209yds, and they tried rushing with 7 different people including Tebow who to me still seems a waste as a 1st round pick. But he did get his first TD. Revis needs this BYE week, he needs to sit down till he’s better.

Oakland V. San Francisco- The Niners got their win, even though they still had plenty of mistakes. I don’t know how they will improve but at least they have the weak division. The Raiders on the other hand are good since everyone else lost in the division.

Dallas V. Minnesota- The Vikings won when they needed to, it was sloppy both teams made major mistakes. But Harvin’s kickoff return for a TD basically won the game for them. The Cowboys in my opinion are dead, in the most competitive NFC division every other team keeps winning and they keep losing.

Indianapolis V. Washington- The Skins’ were able to make it close at the end, but costly INT from Mcnabb stopped them short of where they needed to be. Strong running games, and even passing game made this competitive. The question is was it closed because the Skins’ are a strong team or have the Colts become weak. Personally I think its a little bit of both.

Tennesse V. Jacksonville- The Jags took themselves out of the 4 way tie for 1st place in the AFC South while the Titans really stepped it up to show that no one should forget about them. However a hurt Young isn’t good, we will see if he starts up next week or not. The Jags are on their way down in my opinion. The AFC is way too competitive for a team playing like this.

All of the Bye teams really needed this week to sit back and figure some things out before they come back in week 7 all of these teams are hurting one way or another in one position or another.

Bye: Cardinals, Bills, Panthers, Bengals

Atlanta V. Philadelphia- This is a little hard, depending on if Vick is back or not. But Mccoy has been playing well regardless. I do like the Falcons though this year, their defense has been making great plays, plus Ryan is getting better back to his 08′ self. I am going to pick the Falcons based on their defense regardless who plays QB for the Eagles.

Kansas City V. Houston- The Texans have made me so mad with the way they have been playing especially with the talent they have offensively. I am sick of picking them only for them to disappoint me. So like the Titans last week I will pick them to lose in hopes that they win. However the Chiefs, aren’t looking bad at all. They weren’t doing the greatest offensively last week but I like the way they are playing. I think the Chiefs will win.

Cleveland V. Pittsburgh- Big Ben is back, and even though the Browns are good against interdivision rivals I have to go for the Steelers. I am in Pittsburgh as I write this so I kind of have to or they might come hunt me down. By they I mean Steeler fans, they’re crazy!

Seattle V. Chicago- The Seahawks come off the bye week with a new running back but the Bears have been eating RB’s alive. Cutler should be back and I think the Bears are really playing to win especially after the embarrassing loss to the Giants. The Seahawks still can’t figure out what they’re doing so I have to go with Da Bears!

Detroit V. New York Giants- I don’t think the Lions will bring on the game they did last week. The Giants D is looking scarier than anyone thought they would be. The Lions should be scared they stopped a great passing game against the Bears and stopped the top rushing team last week in the Texans. The Giants are looking sloppy still on the offensive sides with several turnovers every week. If the Lions can get pass the defense they might have a chance. But right now I am going for the Giants.

Baltimore V. New England- The Patriots are coming off their bye week sans Moss, now I know they have some new young tight ends doing well for them. I just don’t see it improving their game. The Ravens on the other hand have been looking good, Flacco is playing well and Ray Rice has finally started to look like the guy from last year. Not to mention their great defense. Have to go with the Ravens.

San Diego V. St Louis-Poor Sam Bradford, he’s helped the Rams win some games and looks to be the future. However without them getting a new go to WR in the next week I don’t know how many more games they can win. The Chargers aren’t looking great but Floyd is doing well for them and I see them taking this one!

Miami V. Green Bay- This one is really hard, mainly because the Packers have been playing really bad. Plus its unknown if Rodgers is going to even play after suffering a slight concussion on Sunday. The Fins are coming off a bye and a bad lost. I just don’t know if Rodgers plays I am picking the Pack, if not I am picking the Fins.

New Orleans V. Tampa Bay- The Saints are going down and the Bucs are coming up. But, I just don’t know if the either has moved enough for this game to really switch from normal and a Saints win. The Bucs are looking alright, but I think they still have a lot to improve on. The Saints just barely lost last week and barely won a couple of times. But I am going to pick the Saints. However its interdivisional and anything can happen.

New York Jets V. Denver- Denver is playing back and forth right now, again without a running game they’ve been a throwing machine but hasn’t been consistent enough. Even if Moreno comes back which is likely I think they will have a hard time against the Jets D.

Oakland V. San Francisco- Ok, I am done the Niners win and they frickin better or when I go down there in a couple of weeks I am going to find Alex Smith and kick him in the head! I just don’t get it every week they should look so much better! I could see the Raiders winning too but I like the Niners.

Dallas V. Minnesota- Both of these teams are desperate for a win, I expect to see both of them to show up. However I don’t know if Brett Favre will. I really think that Moss is the addition that they needed to succeed but if Favre’s elbow keeps bothering him I don’t know how long they will last. It’s a must win either way, but I think the Vikings can pull it off with a healthy Favre, but without one I think the Boys’ will take it.

Indianapolis V. Washington-Here is where the Skins’ need to prove themselves as a real threat all around. Their defense has been great and their offense keeps improving. Lucky for them the Colts are mostly an offensive team who hasn’t been playing well. I am going to go against the grain here cause I like what I’ve been seeing and call the Skins.

Tennesse V. Jacksonville- This could either be the game of the week or the most boring game ever. Both teams know how to step it up and crash & burn. It really depends on who shows up. I am going to call the Titans as they have been improving every week.

 Steelers  1   Last Week:1
I know they had a BYE and the Ravens won, but I am not taking the Steelers out till I see them play with Big Ben next week. They were playing damn well without him, need to see what they look like with them before I think of moving them.
Ravens 2    Last Week:2
The Ravens won and I am sure most people will be saying they deserve to be #1, but I can’t replace The Steelers because they are on a BYE week but if Rice continues to reopen up they will be #1 in no time.
Jets 3 Last Week: 3
The Jets won despite the Vikings almost sneaking up on them. The Jets are winning when they need to. They are becoming a well rounded team.
Falcons 4  Last Week:5
I like the way the Falcons defense is playing right now, I also like Matt Ryan. They are the most put together NFC team right now.
Bears 5 Last Week: 8
The Bears didn’t look good on offense without Cutler but they looked great on defense which is why they get #5 from me.
Colts 6  Last Week:6
The Colts aren’t looking the best but they aren’t bad enough to be mediocre yet. They have the tools but are playing sloppier than normal.
Packers 7 Last Week:4
So many mediocre teams to try and pick out the good ones from. The Pack isn’t looking the best and are injury plagued if this doesn’t stop the Pack is going to fall.
Chiefs 8  Last Week:12
Yes the Chiefs lost, however they held their own. The main problem they are having is with thier WR core, everything else is falling into place.
Saints 9   Last Week: 7
The Saints ain’t looking like themselves no more. I don’t see a repeat, but in a weak NFC a wild card is not out of the question.
Patriots 10  Last Week:9
Their coming off a bye, but Moss for Branch is not an improvement.
Redskins 11  Last Week:14
The Skins are starting to look good right about now, their defense has really picked it up and the offense is starting to come around.
Eagles 12  Last Week:11
The NFC East is becoming pretty competitive with all but the Cowboys playing well.
Giants 13  Last Week:23
The Giants D is looking unstoppable, but Eli is still making way too many mistakes.
Texans 14  Last Week:13
The Texans got it handed to them by the Giants we shall see if they bounce back.
Bengals 15  Last Week:10
The Bengals are a mess but they have the talent. Palmer needs to shape up or in a very competitive AFC they’re playoff chance will be all but gone.
Dolphins 16  Last Week:15
The Dolphins were on a BYE, but they come back to play the Pack this would be a great time to prove themselves!
Titans 17  Last Week:21
The Titans are starting to look better week by week, I see them moving up soon especially if they win over the Jags on Monday night.
Buccaneers 18  Last Week:18
The Bucs win last minute, but I think there might be something there. We will see how they look against the Saints.
Chargers 19  Last Week:16
They didn’t play their best against the Raiders but still have a good team, lets see how they play against the Rams.
Broncos 20  Last Week:19
They’re in a 3 way tie for 2nd place in their division so they are very easily in it, but I just don’t how much longer they will be able to keep up.
Jaguars 21  Last Week:27
They’re in a 4 way tie, but I think they’re the weakest of the four and don’t know how many more they can win.
Vikings 22  Last Week:20
Moss is a good addition but Favre is playing sloppy, I don’t think at this point he will last the season.
Raiders 23  Last Week:26
The Raiders are being the spoiler again this season winning when it hurts the other team the most.
Cardinals 24  Last Week:24
The Cards won but it had nothing to do with their offense which is still looking bad.
Seahawks 25  Last Week:22
The Hawks needed a bye, lets see if Lynch can help them out.
Rams 26  Last Week:25
The Rams suffered a big lost in more way then one, they may continue to fall.
Cowboys 27  Last Week:17
The Coyboys are not looking good and everyone else in their division is.
Lions 28  Last Week:28
The Lions have their best lopsided defeat since 1995, but Calvin Johnson hurt himself.
Browns 29  Last Week:29
Mccoy might get the start next week, at least Hillis still looks good.
49ers 30  Last Week:31
They can’t buy a win, every week might be the week. Sad things is they still have a chance to win the division.
Panthers 31  Last Week:30
THe Panthers are one hot mess, Clausen lost the starting job, Moore is starting again? Just ugly!
Bills 32  Last Week:32
Hmmm…..one positive……they scored last week.

You know its Week 5, about 1/3rd of the way through the season and I am beginning to think no one really wants it this year. Well, at least not in the NFC. The AFC has a few teams that are putting the #’s up, but there is so much mediocreness it will be interesting to see how things end up especially for the wild card.

BYE: Dolphins, Patriots, Seahawks, Steelers

Jacksonville Vs. Buffalo- Well when you look at the stats these teams were fairly similar, which is good and bad. Bad for the Jags as you don’t want to be compared to the Bills, but good for the Bills cause you’ve been pretty pathetic so at least you get a decent comparison? The Bills could have won this, but the Jags were better at the end. Neither team is going to go anywhere this year anyways.

Denver Vs. Baltimore- Orton is still throwing like crazy, but they also don’t have a running game right now. However it didn’t get him nor the Broncos the win. The Ravens are playing great, Rice finally scored a TD, and their receiving core is top-notch now. But I have to see how the Steelers look next week with Big Ben to say this team is the best in the NFL.

Kansas City Vs. Indianapolis- I will admit I think the Chargers should be scared of this team knocking on the AFC west champs door. Yes they lost the game, but their defense is looking good. I think they should really look to get a WR and soon. Cassel had some good throws but apparently all of his WR had butter fingers. The Colts should really be worried about how they’re playing. Yes, they got the win but they are not looking pretty or good. Peyton didn’t even have a TD! How often does that happen? They’re lucky the Texans looked so bad today!

Green Bay Vs. Washington- Know what I said about the Pack winning the superbowl this year? I changed my mind! I am pretty sure it will be an AFC team with the way the NFC is playing. The Pack is only missing their RB, but Jackson did his job today! It’s not like the Skins’ looked so good its the Pack looked so average. The Skins’ however are keeping themselves in the packed NFC East race.

St Louis Vs. Detroit- Apparently I shouldn’t have said it. I should have known the Lions would win, they were so ready for a win. Plus they just could just pick apart the Rams defense. It was their biggest win since 1995! They really wanted it but more than that the Rams showed that they need more weapons for Sam Bradford to win every week.

Chicago Vs. Carolina- You know the saying hell hath no fury like a woman scorned? I would call Peppers the woman in this one. He showed the Panthers what they were missing by not giving him the respect he deserved. I don’t even think the Bears even needed a QB in this game. Well it’s not like they really had one anyways. This has to be the lowest combined passing yards by any two teams ever. Cutler’s sub had 32 yds and 4 INT which equaled a QB rating of like 6. The Panthers look like the Browns last year at this point in a QB confusion. The Bears just proved that they have a running game. So it will be even better when Cutler comes back next week.

Tampa Bay Vs. Cincinnati I am thinking that Palmer may not have a job anymore next year in Cincinnati. Benson played well, TO played well….Palmer had 3 INT enough said. Bucs fans have to like however how their team is developing every week. I don’t think they will get a playoff spot but they look so much better than last year and have a great young team.

Atlanta Vs. Cleveland- I said it before I like the Falcons, now they didn’t start off well in this game but they finished well. Delhomme played, the only reason I knew was I heard that the Falcons received 2 INT! I think they’re much better off with Wallace but not by much. Hillis again was their only bright spot. The Falcons do need to figure out a way to score more. Turner had 140 yds but no TD’s and White had 100+yds as well but only 1 TD. Their defense is definitely helping them out.

New York Giants Vs. Houston- This was way more of the Texans sucking then the Giants dominating. Eli made a lot of mistakes again, but the defense made the Texans make more mistakes for the 2nd week in a row. One of the biggest problems it seemed for the Texans was they didn’t have the running game they have had in Arian Foster who went down with a knee injury but Schaub I have to say has been the biggest disappointment so far this year. The QB of a year ago the was one of the top passing yard QB’s out there.

New Orleans Vs. Arizona- I said the Saints weren’t looking good but I didn’t realize they were looking this bad! Brees had 3 INT which is very unlike him one of those was returned for a TD. The Cardinals did not look good by any means all three of their TD’s came from Saint turnovers. If you don’t look at the stats people might think that Max Hall was the change that was needed, but it really was the Saints playing sloppy and the Cardinals defense keeping their eyes open.

Tennessee Vs. Dallas-You know what? I am just going to always not call the Titans, cause when I pick them they lose when I don’t pick them they win. This was actually a good close game, that pretty much went back and forth all afternoon. It was Romo’s 3 INT that did them in, because otherwise they had good #’s out there, Jones, Austin, Williams, and Witten all had over 75yds and all but Jones had a TD. The Titans was mainly CJ as usual but had some nice help from the defense and special teams. If only they can be consistent, but with the Texans losing and the Colts not looking like themselves they need to do this every week to be in the playoffs.

San Diego Vs. Oakland- I am totally ok with being wrong with this for my grandma who loved her Raiders! They snapped a 13 game losing streak against the Chargers. Rivers had over 400yds and no INT’s but 2 very costly fumbles. The Raiders also kicked the Chargers butt on Special teams with 2 blocked punts to start the game. Some bright points for the Chargers is they don’t need Vincent Jackson, Floyd proved that with 213 yds this week. The Raiders also have Bush looking good while Mcfadden rests. Also Campbell can play well when he wants, its the consistency problem again here as it was in Washington.

Philadelphia Vs. San Francisco-I just don’t know what to say anymore. The Niners keep trying and they come up short. However, they really are as coach Singletary says shooting themselves in the foot. Sloppy ball handling by both Gore and Smith. But there were some spots like the VD TD that Smith played with control like a vet. The Eagles didn’t look bad or good they looked eh……McCoy showed a cracked rib wasn’t going to stop him. I think if Vick is healthy they should trade Kolb to the Cards for someone there’s a team that could use even a mediocre QB at the helm.

Minnesota Vs. New York Jets- The Vikings didn’t look good the first half at all on the offense side, but defensively it seemed to be doing its job. However I couldn’t tell if it was more the Vikings D or the Jets O that was holding the Jets to field goals. The Vikings came back well in the 2nd half finally igniting the offense but sloppy work by Favre ended up putting the nail in the coffin for the Vikes and the Jets are 4-1!

BYE: Dolphins, Patriots, Seahawks, Steelers

Jacksonville Vs. Buffalo-  Here is a game that I can actually see the Bills winning, now I am still not sure how I feel about the Jags, but based on history and giving advantage to MJD, I will call the Jags this time.

Denver Vs. Baltimore- Denver’s been squeaking by in their wins, and the Ravens are on a big high beating their rivals. I think the Ravens need to continue working on different things for their offense so they can build on the success they’ve been having.

Kansas City Vs. Indianapolis- Now this one will be interesting, the Chiefs can really prove their undefeated record or turnover and get it from the Colts. It will be interesting to see, however you never want to be on the opposite side of a Manning revenge game and after losing I am sure they will win this one. If not, consider me sold on the Chiefs winning the AFC West.

Green Bay Vs. Washington- The Pack needs this win and needs to dominate after a loss to the Bears and an almost loss to the Lions. Rodgers needs to come out swinging and the defense needs to be more dominant. Washington needs some help still and I just don’t see it yet. I think the Pack will take this one.

St Louis Vs. Detroit- Dare I say it? The Rams when 3 in a row? The last time that happened was in 2006, so maybe its about time. Now I know I have been saying the Lions will get a win and this is a good chance for them but I like the way the Rams have been playing and I think they can do it.

Chicago Vs. Carolina- This hard only cause the Bears looked horrible last week and the Panthers looked decent. So it all depends on who shows up. Cutler was looking good but he was on his ass so much I don’t know what this week will look like but I am going to go on defense alone here and call the Bears.

Tampa Bay Vs. Cincinatti- The Bucs are coming off their bye week, and the Bengals are coming off of a tough lost even through some bright spots in their offense. I really think the Bengals will take this one as they continue to work through their offensive problems.

Atlanta Vs. Cleveland- The Falcons are winning when it counts, I guess that’s good so they compete with the Saints. The Browns may be coming off a win but the only bright spot with them is Hillis. But he can’t carry the team, I like Ryan and the Falcons defense to win this one.

New York Giants Vs. Houston- The Giants won but they didn’t win pretty, while the Texans are doing well with their offense and their defense is finally getting their star back. I really still think the Texans have playoff hopes and possibly a division title with the way the Colts are playing. I like the Texans in this.

New Orleans Vs. Arizona- The Cardinals suck right now, they are now with a rookie QB that no one knows and I don’t think is their solution for the first year without Warner. The Saints however aren’t looking the greatest but they keep winning games which is what counts. I think they will win this one.

Tennessee Vs. Dallas– These are two teams that really need to get it together in order to be taken seriously. The question is who wants it more. The Cowboys are coming off a bye week and the Titans are coming from a last minute loss, this is all sounding familiar this week lots of same type of scenarios. I just don’t know here, I keep calling the Titans and they keep disappointing me. I am going to give it to the Cowboys this week.

San Diego Vs. Oakland- The Chargers performance last week really made them look good, and their defense is looking good as well. While the Raiders are unpredictable, I think the Chargers will win this one and start to really look like they normally do at the end of the year.

Philadelphia Vs. San Francisco- Oh the Niners, but they are catching the Eagles at a good time. Vick will probably be out as well as Mccoy which are their two biggest play makers on offense. I think the Niners see their first win this week. They looked pretty good minus some sloppy ball security, I think this is the week.

Minnesota Vs. New York Jets- The Vikings are coming off a bye and sre bringing Moss with them.  The problem is Revis is back and he knows how to stop Moss. The Jets have one of the best rushing defenses and they have some guys returning on defense. I don’t think the Vikings can rely on Peterson to do it all. Sanchez has a new weapon to use this week in Santonio Holmes and I think they will come out with the win.
